love me, I'm the one

There's a new 4 track sampler mix of Kylie's new album that you can download from her MySpace, and it includes a track I've not heard yet, The One. It's been described as the album standout track in several reviews that I've read and now I've listened to it I can see why.

It's absolutely stunning.

It's about as vintage Kylie as you can get yet it still sounds new and fresh. It's a gorgeous mid-tempo synth and bass driven track with Kylie's heavenly vocals floating over the top of it. The killer lines that give me goosebumps each time I listen to it go like this:
I'm the one
Love me, love me, love me, love me
I'm the one
Love me, love me, love me, love me
I'm the one
Love me, love me, love me, love me
I'm the one
Love me, love me, love me, love me

It's gotta be a single and I can't wait to get my hands on a high quality full length version of it - I'm just so taken by it.

Have you heard it yet? What do you think of it?

kylie: X hits the right notes

Over the weekend I was lucky (lucky lucky) enough to hear most of Kylie's new album X. I was over a friends place and we popped it on to have a listen. Not quite sure what to expect but can I just say how amazing it all is? She's gone all retro and electro and fabbo on us! To me she kind of lost her way with Body Language (her previous CD) which wasn't a bad album, it just wasn't what we wanted to hear at that time.

X however, is a masterful stroke of pop pleasure from one of the best in the business. This album will shift huge numbers this Christmas and deservedly so. Kylie doesn't pretend to be more than she is on this album, which is an astute, confident and sexy (but not crass) pop princess. She has a knack of working with some of the best and brightest about the place and it shows. Her collaborations on X are outstanding. I'm hard pressed to say I have a favourite track yet, but the whole album is really strong.

2 hearts beating together indeed - welcome back kylie!

kylie's 2 hearts

OMG!

A very dear friend of mine just sent me a leaked copy of Kylie's new single 2 Hearts. I bet you're all dying to know what it's like, right?

Well, the first listen didn't grab me much, but I'm halfway through the second listen and it's definitely growing on me. It's a mid tempo sexy little romp actually full of catchy little melodies and lyrics.

I'm not sure it's going to do the same sort of business as Can't Get You Outta My Head, Kylie's monster hit from 2001's Fever album, but just the same, this should keep the homos happy for a while longer...

the verdict is in...

I LOVE Australian Idol this year!

Last night Rich and I went to the 'Live Verdict' show at Fox Studios. You apply for tickets on the site and it's like a lucky draw if you get them so I was stoked last week when they turned up in the post. I would've preferred to have gone to the Sunday night show where they each sing their individual songs, but beggars cannot be choosers so verdict it was.

We got ushered in about 7pm and Rich and I got great seats, 7 rows up on the aisle of the left hand side. A great unobstructed view of the stage. Andrew G and James Mathison come out and help warm up the crowd with jokes and even a sontg - they sang Endless Love to each other plus another one I can't remember. So gay yet so funny

Then the judges came out followed by the idols. So exciting to see some of the boys in the flesh. Ben seems really sweet and Matt is really hot. Not so keen on many of the others but those two have great voices and appear to be really nice guys too. They get my votes anyway.

They performed a group version of the Robbie/Kylie track Kids which was great fun and it was really good to actually see/hear them singing.

Then onto the verdict and it was no big surprise to see all the boys making it through. It really confirmed that the bulk of votes come from teenage girls for whichever boy they seem to have the hots for. Holly got voted out and leaves the competition. The worst part of that was having to listen to her atrocious song again. But it was a great night out just the same.

I've applied for tickets again for the Sunday night show on the 23rd, hopefully I'll get lucky again for at least one more show this season.

i'm off to australian idol

Tomorrow (Monday) night for the 'Live Verdict' show. I am so excited about seeing all the boys and some of the girls live on the stage. Hopefully Rich and I will get seats right near the stage so we may even get our ugly mugs on the TV :)

I'll try and do a post, post Idol about it all.

bah! it's my birthday...

It's that time of year again where I turn 27 for the umpteenth time :P Actually, this year it's 32! Eeeeekk! I'm gettin old.

So, to celebrations, and as usual I've organised a practical orgy of social get togethers so that no matter what you are into, there's a little something for everyone.

Sunday arvo is casual, social drinks at mine (email me for details if you wanna come and missed an invite). There's about 40 or so people RSVP'd so far - should be HUGE fun!

Tuesday is the first Bingay at Arq (I think, I really should check that) so I may stick my head into that if it's behaving normally again after Sunday's shenanigans.

Thursday is the big one! The lovely folk at homesexual are throwing me the mother of all birthday parties and got one of my fantasy boys to sing live at it. Anthony Callea will be performing at his first gay specific event since coming out earlier this year. Should be a memorable night out. Big thanks to Stephen and co for my VIP invite :P

Hope to see you all out and about soon!

food addictions

Hi y'all :)

I have a confession to make.

I'm addicted to Smiths Cheese & Onion chips smothered in sour cream. It's my 'just in the door from work' snack before i take Rosie out walking. I seem to have it most nights. Woolworths aren't helping by running a regular special of 2 x 200g bags of said chips for only $4. For some reason I always feel something akin to guilt after scoffing half a bag of chips and half a tub of sour cream, or maybe it's just that I feel unwell.

So I reckon I'm not the only one who has a strange, quirky food combo that they like to indulge in. We all know pregnant women eat all sorts of strange stuff during their pregnancy. So, readers, I ask you, what do you eat that's a bit weird?

something's going on...

UPDATE: Yay! It's on - the email announcing the party has just been sent! Luminere @ Luna Park, Sydney; 1pm to 9pm Sunday 30 September. Yippeeee!

The boys at Toybox are up to something, although I'm not quite sure what. They've been posting a series of quotes on both their Toybox and Luminere party websites which has gay boys all over Sydney speculating as to what is actually going on.

After being so quiet for so long, could this be the start of a big announcement of another party?

boys don't play with dolls

So we're led to believe.

But boys the world over do play with dolls, especially when they look like these....

Yep, Cher has teamed up with Mattel yet again for a limited run of 3 (yes three!) new dolls to be released later this year. The first two are on general release, but the last one is a very special Platinum Edition with less than a thousand dolls produced. Some sites are already selling them for more than US$500 each but official retailer ToysRUs in the US has just listed them in their online store for only $34.95 each. Watch the scalpers and profiteers move in and scoop what little stock of them exists for exorbitant resale.

I've been lucky as my dear friend Tyson has ordered mine to ensure that I'll get one when they are released. Thanks a million babe!

Tupperware, Tupperware, everywhere

Last night the fabulous Portia Turbo came to my work and did a Tupperware demonstration for some of my work colleagues. I've been a huge fan of both Tupperware and Portia for many years so it's a real treat to get them both together at the same time.

Needless to say the party was a whole lot of fun and Portia even got a corporate booking out of it in a couple of weeks for the mother of one of the girls I work with.

On Sunday evening, we go for round two, with Portia again doing a demo at my place for around 16 people. Should be a hoot and hopefully everyone will walk away with some Tupperware.

Tupperware - you know you want some!

last days in China

well, I'm into the final days of my China trip - currently in Yongkang with Michael and just relaxing for a few days. There isn't much to do here, certainly not like Shanghai or Beijing so we've been shopping and cruising around, watching movies and eating. Very good change of pace after the 2 major cities which were pretty full on. Yesterday we went out and bought about Y120 worth of fireworks (AUD$22) and let them off last night. The Chinese love their fireworks and some of you might know I have a major pyro tendancy so it all came together again here last night. Have some pics from that which I'll post in a big blog when I get home. I think we'll blow the rest of the budget on some more of them for tonight. All in all China's been pretty inexpensive, I think I've spent just over $1000 since I got here and I've not scrimped on anything so far. Looking forward to getting home mid next week and seeing my friends and my Rosie.

melbourne and kylie's showgirl pt2

In the midst of all the drama and hard work that was Christmas at Momento, I managed to drag myself away for an extended weekend in Melbourne. I flew down on Thursday evening and was met at the airport by my friend Drew which was really sweet of him. I was sooo excited about going away as I'd not left Sydney since September 2005, apart from one quick day trip down the coast to see my Gran when she was in hospital.

So Drew and I chatted excitedly on our way back into Melbourne proper from the airport which wass really good. I hadn't seen him or spoken much as we'd both been pretty busy since he was here for Toybox in August. I should make something else clear here, I adore Melbourne and I have lots of friends down there that I love catching up with. My social schedule was pretty full up and when I arrived at Palazzo de Platt, ie Farrell's, I was shown to the suite that is named in my honour.

I think it's one of the reasons I love Melbourne so much, I get to stay at a boutique hotel in my own suite - the Margeaux Suite. Luxuriously appointed and styled in a manner befitting my good self, it's like being at home without being at home. Retiring to the gracious sitting room chesterfields for smoking and scotch, Farrell introduced me to his new boyfriend Tye and we settled into our usual banter till we realised how late it had become. So off to bed we tottled.

After a big sleep in, which I rarely get because normally I have to get up and walk Rosie before work, I looked at my mobile and saw cancellation text messages for all the stuff I had scheduled for the day. So I got up, had some breakfast (no room service, they'd already knocked off apparantly), and headed out for a whirl up Chapel Street. I dropped by the chemist where my dear friend Paula (aka Candi Stratton) works sometimes and had a very brief yak with her. Then off to Chapel Street proper for some teasing window shopping. Seeing nothing that really grabbed me enough to want to buy I was home again just after midday.

Realising that I hadn't yet indulged a coffee, it meant I could perhaps get a snooze in before dinner. So into bed I got and slept solidly for another 4 hours or so - BLISS! I got up around 5 and bathed and headed into the city to meet Joey and Faz for a bit to eat at a lovely Thai restaurant. The city streets were teeming with Christmas revellers but didn't seem to have that edginess that is often apparant in Sydney at this time of year. God how I love Melbourne. And the hot wog boys of course.

After dinner with much laughter and great food, we headed back towards the gay strip but at the last minute I bailed, opting for an early night rather than an early morning :) Much to Joey's disappointment. Sigh. But by all accounts he had a good time.

Saturday morning brought brunch with Cam & Maree and Esther over by way of Ascot Vale. Pretty suburban but their new home is just lovely and huge. I finally got to meet their new boys Jet and Dylan, 2 gorgeous cocker spaniels. After brunch Faz and I headed back into town and he helped me with a purchase of new sunglasses which I've been needing for ages. I ended up with a pair of Oxydo (never heard of them before either) but very nearly bought a pair of Prada shades that were divine, even at $380! I mean, they would want to be wouldn't they? Thankfully sanity prevailed and I didn't get them.

In the late afternoon I headed back into town to see one of my best girlfriends Jodi, a self confessed Kylie junkie like me, for a bite and drink pre Showgirl concert at Rod Laver. As we normally seem to do, we met at Federation Square and ate at a gourmet pizza joint there. I encouraged some drinking to go with the food, as after the last Kylie concert I reckoned that I'd need to be drunk to be able to properly enjoy it.

So on to the main reason for my Melbourne sojourn, part 2 of Kylie's Showgirl Homecoming Tour. In what was originally scheduled to be her birthday show during the original tour, this one was extra special as we had 4th row seats and it was the first time that Jodi and I had seen a show together. Our seats were as amazing as I reckoned they would be and Joey was suitably impressed yet again :) As the lights went down we took off towards the barriers and before you could say "Oh wow is that Kylie in a big feather head-dress?" we were pressed up against the barriers ready for the show.

I'd read and heard from others that Kylie had definitely warmed up some from those tentative first shows back in Sydney at the beginning of the tour, and they were so right. Although warmed up hardly seems like an apt description, scorching hot would be more appropriate. To the extent that to me it felt like a different show, the second coming so to speak was every bit as magical as I'd hoped it could be. Kylie was dynamic, engaging, her voice soared loud and pitch perfect and she looked amazing. But best of all, she finally looked comfortable and like she was having an absolute ball on the stage.

My favourite moments were the Smiley Kylie section, and the whole second act which is just magic. White Diamond is growing on me and will be a massive hit for her. The show was so much fun, and the 3 of us danced and grooved around for most of it. The spiritual indian barefooted segment to my mind still doesn't work and is a let down, but the rest of the show just sparkles with life and generous lashings of good fun. An exuberant celebration of all things Kylie.

After the show, we had plans for a big night out and about the clubs and bars of Melbourne, but after such an enjoyable evening I piked on Joey again. Which he was less than impressed about I can assure you. But you know what, if your hearts just not in it, then why push it?

Sunday morning brought a lateish Yum Cha with Tye, Farrell and a friend of theirs which was lovely, great food and lots of giggles. After that we grabbed a coffee and then I went to Lawrence and Ants for an afternoon gossip. Ant wasn't feeling well so Lawrence took me by their new apartment which is in a converted school. So chic and modern, yet old at the same time. It's not massive but I'm completely envious of the fact that its theirs (well their banks!). I can't wait to head back down for the housewarming sometime soon.

Later in the evening I caught up with my friend Matt who'd only just arrived back in the country after his year away in Canada. Whilst he was there he managed to marry his boyfriend, so now husband, and do all sorts of other stuff. It was so great to sit and have a conversation with someone that I adore and haven't been able to do that with for ages. Just lovely.

On Monday morning, the last day of my break, I went into the city and met Paula again for a decent chat. I have so much time for her and Matt, her husband, as everytime I see them they are trying so hard to make something more for themselves. Our chat was leisurely and before I knew it a couple of hours had seamlessly flown by and it was time to meet up with Farrell who'd just finished a meeting over at Southbank. We found a lovely restaurant and enjoyed a sun soaked boozy lunch overlooking the Yarra. Just bliss.

After lunch we did a spot of Christmas shopping for Rosie at a big pet store, got lots of lovely toys and things for her and probably went a bit overboard but she is my little girl after all :) Farrell drove me out to the airport for my flight home and Joey had changed his flight so we could travel together which was fun. The last time we were on a plane together was when we came back to Sydney after our brief holiday in far North Queensland in 2000. It was great to be home again and to see Rosie who'd been over at Joey's parents house for a week.

So my trip to Melbourne was a huge success and I had an absolute ball. So great to see so many of my friends, and to see Kylie at her best.

REVIEW: Kylie - Showgirl Homecoming - Sydney 14 Nov 06

Sorry that this is so long but I wanted to write a lot :)

So I finally saw my first Showgirl concert tonight (3rd SEC show) and to be honest, I nearly left at the intermisson. But the second part was outstanding, one of the best concert segments I've seen Kylie ever perform and redeemed the show overall.

I thought Kylie's vocal was strong and she's sounding just like always, no issue there. White Diamonds I think will grow on me, but at first take it was hard to get my head around the high pitched vocal but the melody is really sweet - similar to I Know for me.

She looked wonderful - radiant and healthy. She's put on some weight finally it seems and she's so sexy and curvy, much more than ever before. I think she looked great.

The new outfits were fabulous, even the catsuit which looked horrible in all the photos I saw pre show. Because of her shorter hair she's playing with wigs and head pieces more than she has previously. The silver wig was right there with something Cher would wear which being a hige Cher fan I just loved.

But, back to Part One. Oh dear! The show never seemed to get going - reduced K dancing aside. I got the feeling she was still super nervous and needed to focus on what was going on which is fine, it's just not as enjoyable for the crowd I don't think. I didn't think BTDYK was a good track to open with in either show with the staging the way it was. Even though she seemed genuinely appreciative of the initial response of the crowd, I think there was an element of awe and shock, curiosity as to how she wass, looked, sounded and what we were in store for.

The second act of Smiley Kylie was hot - as good as SG DVD. I think the way that whole segment is styled and staged is outstanding. The arrangements and segueways into each track are so well conceived and produced, it's hard not to enjoy it. Very similar in energy to the medley segment from On A Night Like This Tour that just about blows the roof off. The costume and wig looked so fab - very Debbie Harry-esque and she was just rocking out. You could tell that she was enjoying being on the stage and the way the crowd was responding to her.

But, then the wheels fell right off. What happened to the lush evocative version of Confide in Me? I HATED the new version and the staging left me bored silly. I found the whole segment to be yawn inducing and just not exciting. That said, I know of many who did enjoy this part of the show. just not me. Why she didn't retain the moodiness of In Denial and Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi pre dramatically arranged CIM is beyond me. It was a highlight of the previous incarnation of Showgirl and should've been enough to stay in.

I could've done without a rehash of Too Far and Cowboy Style, both seemed out of place in a Greatest Hits tour - they are far from her best and Cowboy Style was a million times better during Fever Tour.

When she performed Slow, Red Blooded Woman and something else that I've already blocked out, I was so bored and yet I love the tracks. Willie had obviously had too much influence and I'm getting sick of the overtly gay overtones to sell her stage show. I mean, a casual nod here and there to her gay audience is great, but this is becoming way too contrived and insincere.

And why on earth is she making us sit through the woeful Kids again? Surely there are better tracks in her repertoir than that pile of crap? To me it smacked of laziness.

The first half seemed to drag on and on and on and I was just hanging out for the intermission. What happened to the uber-fabulous Please Stay?

Opening the second act was the gorgeous Somewhere Over The Rainbow/Come Into My World/Chocolate segment. Still gives me goosebumps and you could tell that CIMW has taken on new meaning to K since the cancer.

I Believe In You was sheer heaven - one of the best moments of K's live career ever IMO. She sang truly and seemed to be pleading with the crowd to give her some assurances that they indeed did believe in her the same way that she believes in us. She was just metres from us and at times I thought her voice was about to crack and the concentration was intense as was the crowds response to an obviously 5 star performance.

From here the concert hit full steam with the next section just filled with a great performance and K growing more confident and playful, more relaxed and she seemed to be enjoying herself for the first time in the show.

The Burning Up intro was hot, Vogue was breathtakingly superb and such a wonderful homage back at Maddy who's been so supportive of our Kyle's over the past few years. Loco, Lucky and Hand on Your Heart was just brilliant. This was a great section. Her adlib of Yazz's The Only Way Is Up pre Lucky should become a regular part of the show and I hope by the time I'm in the 4th row for the 2nd last show in Melbourne it has a permanent, expanded presence in the show. It could be another of those OMG moments done properly. Think Light Years/I Feel Love.

CGYOOMH was ok, seemed to lack the spark of previous arrangements but was still really good. I adore Light Years and it's always welcome in a Hits show, even though it never got a single release which in itself was a massive crime. Sigh. The staging of this part of the show was simply perfect, outstanding concept and flawlessly executed, a real highlight of the show. The outfit was spot on, choreography perfect, I can't say enough good things about this part.

The encore was just beautiful, Kylie really engaged with the audience and although it was terribly self-indulgent of her to carry on the way she did, having all sorts of moments with individual people around the place, it was still great to see her having fun and just being K. You got a sense of who she might be away from the glare of public scrutiny.

Especially For You was cute and heartfelt while Love At First Sight is fast becoming one of her all time greats.

I know this review isn't particularly flattering, but it's not her greatest show, even if its billed as a show of her Greatest Hits. It's a good show and considering all she's been through in the past year, it's no mean feat to even be able to pull off a show of this calibre at all, even if to me it doesn't quite work so well. I'm keen to see how it portrays onto DVD as that's where the comparison to the original come from for me as I never saw that show live. Maybe they can trick it up ok.

There were some great arrangements, fabulous outfits and wigs, K was in great voice. But there was certainly something not quite right about it. Maybe it was just that the pressure of it all had gotten to her and it may take her a few more shows to warm up and into it. It'll be interestig to see just what the show looks and sounds like in Melbourne after 18 previous shows.

All I could think of as we left the SEC was 'Thank god I didn't have tickets for more shows than the 4 I'm going to' as if it was anything like the Fever Tour of Oz when I saw 10 shows in 2 weeks, I'd have to skip the first half and only come in for the second part. I'm also curious to see what I think after the 4th show I see, to see if I've changed my mind but something tells me that I won't like the first part and the second part will always blow my mind. Sigh - I just wish it was more consistent.

3 stars from 5

REVIEW: U2 Vertigo Tour, Sydney

If ever there was a doubt in anyone's mind as to whether this concert would be one to cherish and remember for all time, U2 dispelled these doubts in mere moments last night at Telstra Stadium. As the stadium lighting went down over the 75,000 revellers and the massive stage came to life, the crowd wooped with obvious delight.

Although I'm not a huge fan, at one point during the show it was nothing but back to back hits. Dubbed the Vertigo Tour, I'm guessing lots of tracks that I didn't recognize were liften from the bands latest CD How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb. But when they played their vast array of hits including One, With Or Without You, Vertigo, Beautiful Day, Where The Streets Have No Name the appreciative crowd screamed and danced all over the place. My personal highlight was Pride (In The Name Of Love) which showed Bono in absolutely splendid voice.

After singing with Kylie the night before at her show, Bono made several references to the Pop Princess, dedicated a track, and even going so far as to interlace parts of Kylie's I Should Be So Lucky throughout their nearly 2 and a 1/2 hour concert.

The sound was outstanding for a huge venue on a windy night, loud and clear. The stage was amongst the biggest and most technologically advanced I think I've ever seen. The crowd, well, was very Irish as you'd expect but I got lots of giggles over the drunk straight boys who were doing their best to dance the night away in a most uncoordinated fashion.

All in a fabulous night from one of the worlds most enduring bands.

4 stars.

PS: Apologies for the long break between posts but I am as busy as I have ever been, working 60 hour weeks in the lead up to Christmas. Hope you are all well and happy! xx

FLASH: To Mars & Back...

I've just arrived home from Mars Lounge, where they were celebrating the first birthday of the hugely popular Flash night! Held on Sundays, it's a bit of an underground thing - those in the know go there for a fun relaxed night out, away from the usual Oxford Street crowd. I love it cause it's dark and the music is to die for. Alex Taylor and Chip play fabulous pumping house music to keep you jumping around. And tonight was no exception. As I left, my Abercrombie tee was plastered to my body, wet with sweat from the couple of hours that I was there.

Fab fab fab!

Now it's time for sleep, and even though it's a long weekend, I have a tonne of work to do tomorrow to get prepared for the week from hell.

Go Swannies!

My beloved Swannies look like they may just be there on the last Saturday in September after a 1 point win against last years grand finalists, the West Coast Eagles. They now play the winner of Melbourne/Fremantle at Telstra Stadium in a fortnight in what should be a cracker of a game. The Swans now enjoy a couple of weeks off to rest and all things going well, should be playing in the Grand Final. Woo Hoo!!

Dannii and Beyond...

Hey there!

Just a couple of hours ago I was standing in a queue outside Hum Records on Oxford Street Sydney, awaiting the arrival of one of my favourite performers - Dannii Minogue! She may have sashayed in around 45 minutes late, but for the crowd of adoring (gay) fans that had queued up to a few hours to see her, the wait was worth every minute.

Flawlessly made up and dressed, she looked every bit a superstar, but one on one she was nothing short of engaging and genuine with her fans. I was lucky enough to be one of the first people through and she took the time to sign 3 things for me and pose for a lovely photo as well.

I dragged along my friend Daniel and we had a lovely afternoon chatting and waiting for Dannii. His pic turned out great too!

Thursday night brings the Dannii live show at homesexual which I am really excited about. Daniel and his boyfriend Pete are coming now so it's going to be a great night! I'll try and get some pics or clips from the show!

So under pressure

I am SO excited! I just got an email from my lovely friends who run the fabulous 'homesexual' parties here in Sydney, announcing that for their 1st Birthday party, they've managed to secure, exclusively, Dannii Minogue for a special live performance. It will be Dannii's only Australian show whilst she is here promoting her new album 'Hits & Beyond'.

I have waited forever to see Dannii live again after dancing with her at Mardi Gras 1999 and I always got so peeved when she'd do special gigs at G.A.Y. in London but she never did public shows here. The last time she was here performing a Neon Nights showcase was by invitation only.

Tickets are selling like hotcakes so if you do wanna go - you should get your tickets now! I've got mine, see you there!

Easter weekend

It's been a strange one to say the least. I'm settling into fatherhood and the pups have been the focus of the whole weekend. It's been social though with lots of visitors coming to meet Rosie. Poor Joey has had a tough weekend because most of the pups have gone to their new homes now, he only has the little black and silver boy left. He wasn't going to keep any as I got one and his Mum took one as well, but he's since changed his mind and I think he's going to try and find a way to keep the little boy thats left.

The pups and I have been playing this morning and they've been so hyper, so much fun.

Here is a pic that I took of Rosie yesterday.

Now if that isn't the cutest little puppy you've ever seen, I wanna see the pics of the one you think is cuter than her!

By the way, traffic to the site has jumped by over 50% this past week - I guess you think the puppy is more interesting than me? hehe!

when you want to be silly

Click the image for a poster sized image!

There is no place like a Toybox party! From the stunning party posters and imagery to the their hilarious emails that set the scene, this is always the most fun you can have at a party in Sydney, possibly the world. If you aren't a member of the Toybox email list then you wouldn't have read their alert that tickets had gone on sale. It's one of the funniest things I've ever read and if this doesn't bring a smile, a giggle, even perhaps a chuckle or chortle, at best a whole hearted belly laugh to you, then you really must be dead inside!

We invite you to join us when we return jovially, joyously and jubilantly to the intimacy of our ancestral home, the mother ship, the spring we sprang from, where we first came together in a far-fetched fanciful flight of fabulousness and you wondrously and wittingly wove a whimsical world - inimitably immersed and instilled with imagination - where we all became part of the whole so much larger than the sum of the parts of our favourite special patch of silliness in an otherwise serious world.

What: Toybox - Day Party at The Metro
When: Sunday May 7th from noon til 8pm
Where: The Metro Theatre - 624 George Street Sydney

You know that I'll be there with my best set of silliness on - after all, daytime is playtime!

FatCat and I with the Premiership Cup

Last night FatCat and I went to the season launch of the Swans Young Bloods membership, to which I belong. We had a great night - lots of great canapes and free drinks, plus a swag of Swans players to ogle. Fun!
We also had the chance to get our photo taken holding the Swans Premiership Cup, and even though they took them with a polaroid camera, I'm still very happy with the picture! We got one each and one together which is sweet!

Next game is on Sunday against Port Adelaide and the boys are hungry for a win! Go Swannies! Go Bloods!

only 4 more sleeps...

till my little Rosie comes to live with me!

I'm getting very excited now and just a tiny bit nervous. I'm sure it will all work out ok but even still.

Tonight I'm going to the season launch of the Swans Young Blood membership which should be fun. It's sponsored by Carlton Draught so there should be lots of beers consumed I'd think. Anthony is coming with me too which will be great to share that with him.
